We are under contract to sell our house!!!! And the story is so much fun too!!!!
9656 Newcastle Dr., Highlands Ranch CO 80130 has been our home for the last 7 1/2 years! It is the first home we owned and both kids were born here (well actually at St. Joes). We love our lives here in Highlands Ranch and will miss Colorado dearly!
I love this picture from our kitchen island! I will miss this view....but can only dream about a future house adorning both Italian and Chinese relics.

We had recently decided to sell our house before our upcoming move to Shanghai China. We started meeting with a great realtor who helped us get the house ready to be listed in the MLS on April 11, 2012. Only, at the time of this posting it is only April 2, 2012 and the house is already under contract.
Being the type A personalities my husband and I are, we worked diligently day in and day out to prepare our house to go on the market after Spring Break. But of course we were ahead of schedule, and thank goodness! Between new carpet prep and getting ready for my dad to visit, a wonderful green cleaning, and second visit with our realtor, we were ready to show the house 13 days early.
Here is how the last few days have gone down...

Thursday March 29, 2012-
10 AM- 1 1/2 hour appointment with the relator, decided to list house on April 11, 2012
12 PM- 2 hour green cleaning including the windows and blinds
2 PM- Note left by Stephanie (GREEN CLEANING) that a gal came by who used to live in the house and her daughter is looking to buy. The neighbors told them that we were moving to China and would be selling our house. The buyers mom was the original owner of the house 15 years ago.
4:14 PM- Mom of buyer stops by the house and calls two girls (one being the buyer) to come take a quick walk through.
Friday March 30, 2012- (sorry, times are already blurry on this day)
Buyers walk by with their dog and we our out front and chat. They want this house and offer to pay buyers fees. :)
Buyers relator stops by and leaves a note asking us to call her.
We make the hard decision to sell the house by owner since we had not yet signed a contract and could save a lot of money. We make some hard phone calls and ask our great friend Edie to help as an attorney.
We call the buyers relator and set up a 10AM meeting time for Saturday March 31, 2012.
Saturday March 31, 2012-
10AM- We let the buyers walk through the house.
10:15 AM- We told the buyers what we would need to sell the house to them before we even listed it to others. They love the house, colors and have emotional attachment as she lived in the house for a year when growing up and mom lives a block away. They even have the exact same red couch and are super excited to buy the others from us!!!
1:00- Buyers accept terms and paperwork gets signed electronically throughout the rest of the day between soccer games.
9PM- We are under contract!!!
Let's hope that the rest of the process continues to go well and we can focus on getting ready for our move overseas!
